We, Master of Ceremonies of the Festivities, do hereby solemnly make known that in the town of Sint-Truiden there is something to celebrate. From the distant Land of Tol we were sent to your town with but one task: to invite you.
There cometh an evening on which Sint-Truiden shall lose its everyday shape. When? Saturday 17 October, when the clock strikes half past eight. Where? There where the town comes together: on the Grote Markt. Whoso stayeth at home shall hear of it later from another. That you would not wish.
Bring ye your bicycle bell. For to celebrate without a bicycle bell is of course impossible,
as you will surely understand.
We further request that you be dressed as white as you possibly can, with a touch of red. Thus it befits a bicycle bell. And was it not Saint Trudo himself who went before us, in white alb and red cope?
Learn ye the song below, on flute, drum, fiddle or whatever you have at home. Your own voice will serve as well: joined by the bicycle bell, it shall ring out merrily.
Given at Sint-Truiden, in the year of our Lord 2026.
With solemn greetings,
